Series: Meet The Leaders At The PBA

It's Reyna Stevenson!

Did you know that Ontario Prospects Elite Baseball continues to be a nationally recognized premier baseball program?

For more than 18 years, the Elite teams have had the privilege to play baseball in both Canada and the USA. No one is prouder of these accomplishments than our next feature profile.

Name:
Reyna Stevenson

What is your role with the PBA?
Director, Elite

Tell us more about the Elite Program?
The elite program is a 12-month program coached by former professional and college-level players with a focus on the development of youth baseball players (14U to 18U), who are preparing for college and professional levels.

When you’re not at the PBA, what’s your day job?
During the day I am an IT Director in International Banking and then I switch hats and become the Co-Owner & Principal Director of Ontario Prospects Baseball Club, where we provide opportunities to youth baseball players to train and compete in an elite environment in preparation for college.   I mainly manage the elite teams and scheduling for your development programs and lessons

And when you’re not working there, OR with the PBA, what else do you do in your free time?
This is a tough one... when I'm not running the baseball facility and our elite teams, I look forward to spending time with my family - often watching my son play baseball in college.

What is your vision for the 2022 season?
For the elite teams, we are really looking forward to a full season this year.  Heading down to Florida with our 18U team to participate in the PBR Tournament over the March break is the big kick-off for 2022.  There will be a lot of travel this summer to Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh  and we look forward to our teams being competitive in the US.  We have a strong recruiting program and I would be thrilled to help get 100% of the 2022 graduating class that wish to play baseball at the college/university level placed at schools in the US or Canada.

What advice do you have for players or parents?
For both parents & players, my advice would be to focus on your baseball development. Play where you will get the most playing time to continue developing. #BetterEveryDay
